Khalif M. Townes is a Businessman, Digital Strategist, Social Media Manager and Content Curator that specializes in online marketing and media services geared towards both the faith-based consumer and mainstream urban entertainment audience. Townes is President/CEO of That’s True Media, LLC. (formally Urban Roundup Group, LLC.), a business he launched in 2001.
Townes owns and operates uGospel.com – the flagship website under That’s True Media, LLC that is currently the no. 1 online site/entertainment blog in the faith-based/gospel music genre. The site also features uGospel Radio, a digital streaming platform nominated for a Stellar Gospel Award that was at the forefront of Christian online radio stations when it launched in 2012.
The Philadelphia native also oversees ThatsTrue.com, a broader portal reaching mainstream audiences with urban entertainment news and pop culture headlines. Third Quarter of 2019, ThatsTrue.com will be going to Print with That’s True Magazine!
Under the umbrella of That’s True Media, Townes has also launched UrbanTix.com. This platform is a ticket purchasing site for the consumers looking for concert tickets, Broadway shows or any array of events and happenings.
January 2019, Townes, soft launched a new ticketing platform Ticketlocity.com. A Global Cloud based online ticketing service. Townes is the FIRST African American to Develop, own and operate and tap into this multi-billion dollar industry. The self service platform enables people to sell tickets for concerts, conferences and other events of all types and is able to handle transactions in over 25 countries. Easy to use with settlements paid out every 2 days after each sale.
A forward-thinking entrepreneur, Townes believes in multiple streams of business. He also owns an online printing company called DashFlyers.com. On this site, consumers can print business cards, event flyers, posters and post cards; as well as large format printing such as retractable banners, step and repeat backdrops, billboards and more. DashFlyers.com operates out of 11 production facilities in the United States, which helps with turning print jobs around quickly no matter where you are shipping to.
This fall, Townes will launch a new multi-format service called In This City. The platform will use InThisCity.com and its partnering InThisCity app to help market and promote businesses in cities all over the United States, becoming a go-to resource for those traveling, looking for events in their own town or just seeking to reach consumers.
While Townes may be a technology guru who has mastered online marketing and website development, he also has enjoyed his experiences as a red carpet personality; radio host and television correspondent.
